The intelligence may be artificial, but the money is real. Year-to-date, the Technology Sector Funds tracked by EPFR have pulled in $142 billion, doubling last year’s $71 billion and nearly triple the $51 billion seen in 2024. At the same time, fund providers are working furiously to provide investors with new ways to buy into the AI story. There are now almost 2200 technology funds across EPFR’s equity and alternative universes, with 520 new technology funds added just this year. Almost half of those new funds are leveraged or bear products, while others offer exposure to memory plays and other AI-adjacent opportunities such as data centers, anime providers and robotics.
