Fiberhost’s open-access network passes more than 1.4mn homes; Inea adds over 300,000 retail broadband and TV customers in the Wielkopolska region. The deal gives T-Mobile Polska, previously mobile-only, its own fiber-to-the-home network to compete with rivals Orange Polska and Play, which already bundle mobile and broadband. Australia-based Macquarie bought both businesses in 2018 and is exiting after roughly eight years. Closing is expected by end-2026, pending Polish competition approval. Latin America and the Caribbean French oil and gas producer Maurel & Prom, majority-owned by Indonesia’s Pertamina, is buying all of Gran Tierra Energy’s South American operations for USD 1.33bn, including debt. The assets pumped about 29,000 barrels of oil a day in H1 2026 and hold roughly 144mn barrels of reserves. Canada-based Gran Tierra expects to earn USD 315mn in net proceeds, some of it going toward share buybacks, and the remainder to fund a strategic pivot toward Canada and its new onshore exploration assets in Azerbaijan. Emerging Asia Bank of America is acquiring a 49.9% stake in Jio Credit, the non-bank lending arm of Mumbai-based Jio Financial Services, for up to USD 1.92bn. Structured as a joint venture via a preferential allotment of shares and warrants, the deal infuses capital into a digital-first lender that has amassed over USD 3bn in assets under management since launching operations two years ago. Jio Credit’s diversified portfolio includes home loans, corporate lending, working capital, and solar financing. The transaction, which is currently awaiting regulatory approvals, accelerates a broader wave of foreign banking investments into Indian financial institutions, trailing MUFG’s stake in Shriram Finance and Emirates NBD’s expansion into RBL Bank.
